New York Knicks Receive: G/F Justin Holiday
Indiana Pacers Receive: F Kevin Knox II, 2022 Second-Round Pick (via CHA)
The New York Knicks have done a great job adding depth to their roster. They could go at least two-deep at every position on the team, but they could still look to change things up a little bit on the wing. If they do that, the Indiana Pacers are an intriguing trade partner.
In this deal, the Knicks acquire wing Justin Holiday from the Indiana Pacers. It doesn’t cost much, as Kevin Knox II and a second-round pick in 2022 via the Charlotte Hornets are heading back to Indiana.
For the Pacers, this is a trade that makes sense. They have a very crowded wing rotation as currently situated. Caris LeVert is locked into a starting spot, and the team is hopeful that T.J. Warren can come back healthy and start at small forward.
Off the bench, the team has rookie Chris Duarte, whom they selected with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Jeremy Lamb is still on the roster as well, and Torrey Craig was signed in free agency. Younger players in Edmond Sumner and Kelan Martin could also factor into the rotation.
So, the Pacers alleviate that logjam and add some depth to the frontcourt with Knox. Knox has yet to live up to expectations with the Knicks after being selected 9th overall in 2018. He has potential, but things haven’t clicked in the Big Apple.

A change of scenery may be what’s best for him at this point. Indiana could have some minutes available at the four-spot behind Domantas Sabonis that Knox could earn. He showed improvement on his 3-point shot this past season but remained a work in progress defensively.
How does this trade impact the Knicks? Let’s take a look.
