Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Dejounte Murray, G Derrick White, SAS 2023 1st Round Pick (Lottery-Protected)
San Antonio Spurs Receive: G Ben Simmons

There have been many teams inquiring about Ben Simmons’s availability, and one of them has been the San Antonio Spurs. Who knows what San Antonio is offering up, but for the 76ers to trade Simmons there, they would almost have to get both Dejounte Murray and Derrick White.

Both guards are fairly young, and they are experienced in this league, which would make them prime targets for Philly to add to their backcourt.

Not only is Murray a solid offensive player, being able to put up triple-double-like numbers some nights, but he is also a solid on-ball defender, which is something the 76ers would like to get back if they were to trade away Simmons.

As for Derrick White, injuries have limited his time on the court over the last few seasons, but he is a guy who is always on that list of “players that could have a breakout season.” In 36 games last year, White averaged 15.4 points, 3.5 assists, and shot 34.6% from three-point range, making him the perfect secondary scorer that the 76ers would need in return.

Compared to the Lillard and Beal scenarios, this trade scenario is a big step back for Philadelphia regarding the kind of production they would receive. Still, Murray and White both are guys who can come in and immediately make a difference next to Embiid and Harris.

The players from the San Antonio Spurs in this trade scenario may not be All-Star guards, but they would give the 76ers more depth in their backcourt, something they really do not have right now.

Ben Simmons is an All-Star-level player, but seeing as he is a liability on offense, teams are not going to be willing to pay the Sixers “a king’s ransom” for him, which is why they may have to settle with key talents as they would receive from the San Antonio Spurs.
