Once considered a potential MVP candidate with the Boston Celtics, Isaiah Thomas’ NBA career has seemed to fall to rock bottom. When Boston made the move to trade Thomas in a deal that got them Kyrie Irving, the 2x All-Star point guard began to see his career decline as he hopped around from the Cavaliers to the Lakers to the Nuggets to the Wizards and finally to the Pelicans on a 10-day contract last year.

It really is a shame that Isaiah Thomas has not been given another chance to prove himself in the NBA, especially since he can still play.

The former 60th overall pick in 2011 is a fantastic locker room guy to have, as every single one of his teammates has always praised him as a leader, and Thomas has proved that he can still play at a high level, as he scored 81-points at the Crawsover Pro-Am in Seattle in early-August.

In terms of accolades and ability to be effective on offense, Isaiah Thomas really is the best free-agent still available on the market, but no team has been willing to give him a chance after he underwent hip surgery to fix a long-term problem he had been having dating back to his days with the Celtics.

Recently, he has worked out with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks, so maybe a team will take a chance on the veteran guard, but he still remains as one of the most under-the-radar free agents still looking to sign for a minimum contract.

It is not about the money or the fame for Thomas, it is just about playing basketball and doing the best he can for his team, which is why 1 of the 450 roster spots in this league deserves to be given to Isaiah Thomas.
