De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, and rookie Davion Mitchell are three key talents in the Sacramento Kings backcourt who they will likely look to build with for the future. Still, the rest of this Kings roster is very uncertain and could result in a trade at some point during the 2021-22 NBA season.

Maybe Richaun Holmes is a long-term building block for them since they just re-signed him to a new four-year contract in free agency, but Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley III, and Harrison Barnes remain three possible players to be traded.

After finishing 31 wins in back-to-back seasons now, there is some optimism within the Kings organization that they could maybe improve record-wise during the 2021-22 season. Still, realistically, they are probably going to miss the playoffs for a record-breaking 16th consecutive season.

Moving Buddy Hield could bring the Kings a solid amount of value right now, which is why they could look into doing so.

Hield was drafted 6th overall in 2016 by the New Orleans Pelicans, but 57 games into his rookie season, the sharpshooter was traded to the Sacramento Kings as part of a big trade package for All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins. He has lasted the longest out of the other players involved in this deal, and Buddy Hield has actually made a name for himself with the Kings.

Through about 4.5 seasons with the Kings now, he has averaged 17.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while shooting 40.9% from three-point range, making him a key perimeter shooting threat for numerous teams around the league.
