Ranking Top Trade Suitors To Watch For 76ers’ Ben Simmons

The 2020-21 NBA season was a solid overall year for Ben Simmons, as he averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists during the regular season, allowing him to go to his third consecutive All-Star game, but the 25-year-old 7-footer really struggled in the postseason for the 76ers.

Simmons only averaged 11.9 points per game in the playoffs while shooting just 34.2% from the free-throw line. Time and time again, teams would send Ben Simmons to the free-throw line because they knew he was not going to make both of them, which is one of the main reasons why the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Now, after being the 1-seed and seeing their championship window close, even more, the Sixers have been shopping Ben Simmons this offseason, but have been unable to get a deal done involving him yet that returns the necessary assets they need to contend for a championship.

The 3x All-Star wants out of Philadelphia and will reportedly not show up to training camp on September 28, so the 76ers are definitely eager to make a move.

Getting the right assets in return is vital for the Sixers, as they cannot afford to screw this trade up, which is probably why everything has taken this long to get sorted out.

Philly wants an All-Star-level talent in return for Simmons, but right now, that seems unlikely to happen since both Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard are off-the-table and no other team is looking to trade an All-Star talent before the start of the season for what could be a “project” in Ben Simmons.

The Timberwolves, Kings, Trail Blazers, Warriors, and Cavaliers are five teams who seem to be interested in Ben Simmons and could very well trade for him in the coming weeks, but which of these teams has the best trade assets to offer up to the Philadelphia 76ers?

Here are the Top-5 trade suitors for Simmons that the 76ers should consider given the return they could possibly get back.
