Worst Trade Destination: Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings have been one of the teams linked to Ben Simmons throughout the offseason. They are looking to make a splash and have also been linked to Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors.
In the case of Simmons, landing with the Kings would represent one of the worst trade destinations for him. Depending on what it would cost Sacramento to land him, he may be coming to a roster that doesn’t fit him well.
The Kings were 17th in 3-point percentage last season. Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, and Harrison Barnes are the only players who are above-average shooters in their rotation. To acquire Simmons, at least one, if not two of the aforementioned players, could be on the way to Philadelphia.
Simmons needs to be surrounded by shooters to make the offense work, and the Kings aren’t equipped to provide that. Sacramento also doesn’t have a good track record of developing players, which makes them a bad landing spot for Simmons.

The Kings would love the defensive impact that Simmons would provide, but they would not be a good landing spot for him from a developmental or roster construction perspective.
