Best Trade Destination: Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers need to shake things up. They could make a splash and acquire someone of Ben Simmons’ caliber to change the franchise’s look.

Portland is a good landing spot for Simmons because he will be paired with an elite scorer in the backcourt no matter what package is sent back to Philadelphia. He will be playing alongside either Damian Lillard or CJ McCollum. Both are excellent fits alongside Simmons, given their shooting and scoring prowess.

Acquiring Simmons would also help balance out the Portland roster. The team has as good as anyone scoring the ball, as they were second in the NBA in offensive rating last season. But, they were poor defensively for as good as they were on offense, finishing second to last in defensive rating.

Adding Simmons to a roster with Powell and Robert Covington would give Portland three excellent defenders with the versatility to defend multiple spots. Simmons would assuredly help turn things around on that side of the ball. He would also add some more size to the team, something they could use as Lillard, McCollum, and Powell are all 6’3” or shorter.
