Boston Celtics Receive: F/C John Collins
Atlanta Hawks Receive: G Marcus Smart, Draft Picks, Prospects or Both In Return
The Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks were already part of one trade together this offseason, along with the Sacramento Kings. Boston received Kris Dunn, who has since been traded again, and Bruno Fernando.
Tristan Thompson went to the Kings. Delon Wright ended up with the Hawks as well.
This most recent trade proposed by Zach Brinkley at Bleacher Report cannot happen for a year because Marcus Smart signed his contract extension after August 6th. Collins has some restrictions as well, but they expire before Smart’s do.
This is a trade that would shake things up for both teams but be beneficial at the same time. Boston is receiving a versatile power forward, something they have been looking to acquire for a while now.
