DeMarcus Cousins
The last few years have been very difficult for DeMarcus Cousins. It was just over three years ago that he was looked at as one of the premier centers in the NBA. He and Anthony Davis were teamed up as the most dynamic frontcourt duo in the league.
Unfortunately, he suffered numerous serious injuries after that. He ruptured his Achilles in 2018 and it has been downhill since. Every time he looked ready to come back and contribute, another injury would take him out.
During the first round of the 2019 playoffs, he tore his quadriceps playing for the Golden State Warriors. He returned to play in the NBA Finals, showing heart and toughness. He worked relentlessly to get into shape that summer, but in August, after signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, tore his ACL.
He missed the entire 2019-20 season as a result. He began last season with the Houston Rockets and in a show of good faith, they bought him out so he can play with a contender. He signed with the Los Angeles Clippers and showed that he still had something in the tank to offer.

Signing with the Lakers would make sense for both sides. The team could use another big man, especially if Marc Gasol isn’t a lock to return to the team any longer. Cousins would also get a chance once again to help the Lakers win a championship and has experience playing with a few of the guys already, making a transition easier.
