3 Teams Who Should Consider Trade For Rockets’ Eric Gordon

The Houston Rockets traded Russell Westbrook before the 2020-21 NBA season began, and then they traded away James Harden in January, thus entering a new era of Rockets basketball.

Jalen Green, Jae’Sean Tate, Christian Wood, Kenyon Martin Jr., Kevon Porter Jr., and all their other young talents possess a lot of potential for the future, but the Rockets still have moves to make with their roster.

Moving on from John Wall will be tough for them to do since he is owed $91.6M over the next two seasons, with next year being a player option, but Eric Gordon is a guy who plenty of playoff-contending teams could show interest in.

The now 13-year-veteran is owed $58.7M over the next three seasons, with the final year of his contract holding a non-guaranteed clause, but he is definitely a guy who can still contribute at a relatively high level off-the-bench. READ MORE: Predictions for Latest NBA Trade Rumors: Simmons, Siakam, Dragic, Lillard

Last year, Gordon saw his season cut short due to injuries, as he only played in 27 games, but he still managed to average 17.8 points, 2.6 assists, and shoot 32.9% from three-point range.

For his career, Eric Gordon has averaged 16.6 points and has shot 36.8% from three-point range, making him a key target for teams looking to add an experienced veteran to their roster.

Again, his price tag is a bit pricey, especially for teams that are already over the luxury tax threshold, but Eric Gordon is still a two-way threat that could be the difference for a team come time for the playoffs.

With this said, let’s look at three teams who should consider adding the Rockets veteran wing to their roster at some point during the 2021-22 season.
