3 Teams Who Still Should Pursue Trade For Kings’ Buddy Hield

The Sacramento Kings are on the verge of making NBA history, but not for something they want to be remembered for. It has been 15 years since the Kings have qualified for the playoffs, which ties a record that was held by the Buffalo Braves/San Diego Clippers/Los Angeles Clippers.

That is not a record the Kings want to hold solely, so they need to turn things around this upcoming season. They finished two games out of the NBA Play-In Tournament, so they’re close to at least competing for the chance to earn a playoff spot.

Had De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton not gone down with injuries near the end of the season, Sacramento could have made that push to the Play-In Tournament. Instead, they went home early, again.

The franchise needs to shake things up to get back on track. They began changing the culture with their last two first-round picks, selecting Haliburton last year and point guard Davion Mitchell this year.

Selecting two point guards is peculiar, especially when the best player on the team, De’Aaron Fox, mans that position already. That leaves the team with a logjam in the backcourt, as those three will be playing significant minutes. What does that mean for Buddy Hield?

Hield was almost traded this offseason to the Los Angeles Lakers. He has been on the trade block for a while and could very well be on the move before the season starts.

Which teams could be interested in him? Here are three teams who should still pursue a deal for Buddy Hield.
