Best Trade Destination: Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers need to shake things up. They could make a splash and acquire someone of Ben Simmons’ caliber to change the look of the franchise.

Portland is a good landing spot for Simmons because he will be paired with an elite scorer in the backcourt no matter what package is sent back to Philadelphia. He will be playing alongside either Damian Lillard or CJ McCollum. Both are excellent fits alongside Simmons given their shooting and scoring prowess.

Acquiring Simmons would also help balance out the Portland roster. The team has as good as anyone scoring the ball, as they were second in the NBA in offensive rating last season. But, for as good as they were on offense they were poor defensively, finishing second to last in defensive rating.

Simmons would assuredly help turn things around on that side of the ball. Adding Simmons to a roster with Powell and Robert Covington would give Portland three excellent defenders with the versatility to defend multiple spots. He would also add some more size to the team, something they could use as Lillard, McCollum and Powell are all 6’3” or shorter.
