New Orleans Pelicans
This offseason was a peculiar one for the New Orleans Pelicans. Moving Eric Bledsoe and Steven Adams to the Memphis Grizzlies to open up some salary-cap space led many to believe they would make some major moves to upgrade the roster this offseason.
Retaining Lonzo Ball at the least if they were unable to land Kyle Lowry. They ended up with neither, trading a first-round pick in a sign-and-trade deal for Devonte Graham from the Charlotte Hornets.
the Pelicans were able to retain restricted free agent Josh Hart, but more needs to be done. David Griffin needs to continue bolstering the roster around Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, and Terrence Ross presents a good opportunity to do so.
Ross, along with Graham, would help improve the spacing around the Pelicans’ two All-Stars in Williamson and Ingram. Last season the Pelicans finished 27th in the NBA in 3-point shooting, finishing 27th in 3-pointers made per game and 25th in 3-point attempts. That is something that has to change and Ross would help improve those numbers.

The Pelicans also need to improve defensively. While not lauded as a great defender, standing 6’6”, Ross provides some versatility on that end of the court. Orlando was also 1.5 points worse with Ross off the court compared to him on the court in defensive rating last season.
While not a big name, Ross would certainly help plug some of the holes on the roster for the Pelicans that persisted last season.
