Isaac Okoro takes a big leap during his “sophomore” season
Last year’s 5th overall pick in Isaac Okoro put together a solid rookie season, averaging 9.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and shooting 42.0% from the floor, resulting in him making the All-Rookie Second Team, but he has a chance to really flourish during the 2021-22 season.
Sexton, Garland and now Mobley are going to draw all the attention for the Cleveland Cavaliers, which means Okoro could be primed to have an even better “sophomore” season in the league. The Cavs opted to play Isaac Okoro in Summer League this year, in which he really played well.
The young forward averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and he shot 59.1% from the floor. The thing that impressed me the most about his game though was the fact that he was not afraid of putting the ball on the ground and making plays for his team, something he did not do a lot of last year.
With a full offseason dedicated to his development and plenty of other young, versatile players now around him, Okoro has a chance to really thrive on the win in Cleveland, especially since he does not have much competition for minutes. Cedi Osman and possibly Dylan Windler will also see time on the wing, but Isaac Okoro is one of the focal points for the Cavaliers now.

He is a strong perimeter defender that moves very quickly and now showing the potential he has on the offensive-end of the floor, the Cavs may have found themselves a really solid, contributing two-way wing that they can rely on to make plays during the 2021-22 season.
