There has been a lot of trade chatter involving the Sacramento Kings this offseason. The team is coming off of consecutive 31-41 seasons and has seen their streak of missing the playoffs reach 15 years. That is tied for the longest streak in NBA history and one that the Kings certainly do not want to have sole possession of.

They are looking to change the culture of the organization and shake up the roster this season. Hard-nosed, defensive-minded point guard Davion Mitchell was selected with their first-round pick, giving Sacramento a three-headed monster at point guard with De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, the team’s first-round pick in 2020, and Mitchell.

Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III have been the names mentioned most in trade talks involving the Kings. Hield was almost traded to the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason for Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and the 22nd pick in the 2021 NBA Draft before Los Angeles pivoted to make a deal with the Washington Wizards for Russell Westbrook. Harrison Barnes is another player worth monitoring, as every contending team would love to add him to their roster.

Sacramento has poked around on making upgrades to the team. Ben Simmons and Pascal Siakam are two names that have been mentioned and would be nice upgrades, but there doesn’t seem to be much traction in either case.

But, that doesn’t mean they should stop trying to find a deal to make. One player they should try and acquire is Jerami Grant of the Detroit Pistons.

Grant was a revelation in his first season in the Motor City and would be a nice addition on the wing for the Kings. What would it take to nab him? Let’s take a look at this hypothetical deal that would land Grant in the Sac-Town
