Going 38-34 and then losing in the first-round of the playoffs is nothing to celebrate in the NBA, but for the Memphis Grizzlies, they should definitely be very joyful about how the 2020-21 season turned out for them.
With Jaren Jackson Jr. not making his season debut until late-April and plenty of players being in and out of the rotation due to injuries, this young Grizzlies team really stood out in the Western Conference and have definitely proven that they are ahead of schedule in their rebuilding process.
Ja Morant through just two seasons has proven that he can be the star and leader of this Grizzlies team and with a ton of other young talents around him, the future is definitely bright for Memphis. Although they did not make any moves in free agency, the Grizzlies have been very busy this offseason in making deals to cut future salaries and continue adding future assets.
The first traded Jonas Valanciunas and the rights to Trey Murphy III and B.J. Boston (who was traded to the Clippers) in this year’s draft to the New Orleans Pelicans for Eric Bledsoe, Steven Adams, the rights to Ziaire Williams and Jarred Butler (who was traded to the Jazz) in this year’s draft, as well as a first-round pick in next year’s draft via the Lakers with Top-10 protections on it.

Then, Memphis flipped Bledsoe to the Clippers for Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu, only to then trade Beverley to the Timberwolves for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez. Memphis also traded Grayson Allen to the Bucks for Sam Merrill and two future second-round picks as well.
GM Zach Kleiman has been extremely busy this offseason reconstructing this Grizzlies’ roster and making sure that his team is ready to contend at the highest-level they possibly can, but they are definitely not done making moves quite yet. The Grizzlies do need to cut some salaries in order to get down to their 15-man roster for the 2021-22 season and both Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson are rumored to be available.

According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, both Brooks and Anderson are “available for the right price,” much like other key talents on other teams around the league. This does not mean that the Grizzlies are actively looking to trade either guy, but if they get the right offer, they could be interested in talking trade with teams.
Given his contract value right now and the fact that Memphis is dealing with a roster-limit problem in terms of figuring out which players to keep in order to get down to a 15-man roster, it seems highly unlikely that Dillon Brooks would be traded at this time, but if a team can offer a great trade package for him, the Grizzlies would definitely entertain the offer. The chances of a team offering said package though is highly unlikely since Memphis cannot really take back a large overhaul of contracts right now.
Regardless of what the circumstances may be, let’s take a look at three teams who could be interested in pursuing Dillon Brooks and what they could possibly offer up in these trade packages.
