Karl-Anthony Towns – Minnesota Timberwolves

Since Towns has been in the league, the T-Wolves have gone 185-279 and he has only been to the playoffs once. With D’Angelo Russell healthy and Anthony Edwards looking like a top-tier talent, maybe things will change in Minnesota, but at some point, Towns is going to begin questioning if the Timberwolves are the best organization for him to not only better his career in terms of his legacy, but his chances of winning during the course of his career.

Karl-Anthony Towns is going to be turning 26-years-old during the 2021-22 season and while he does still have three-years remaining on his contract in Minnesota, he could look to request a trade at any time. If this happens, or even if he plays out the remainder of his contract and becomes a free agent at the age of 29/30-years-old, there is no better place for him to go than the Knicks.

Not only could this be his team, but he went to school in Metuchen, New Jersey and grew up a Knicks fan. This would be a dream come true for Towns to play in MSG, which is why the Knicks should do everything they can to make this possible in the future.

When healthy, Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best players in the NBA and in New York, he could really see his career take off. Not only would he finally be on a good team, but Towns would have the supporting cast around him to potentially put him in the MVP conversation.

Waiting for him to become a free agent in 2024 seems like the most likely way for the Knicks to potentially acquire Karl-Anthony Towns, but like we mentioned before, he could eventually decide that he wants out of Minnesota early and he could request a trade. If this happens, New York should look to leverage whatever assets they can to try and land Towns.
