Would this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers?
The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the best teams in the NBA since LeBron James came over from Cleveland. Both he and Anthony Davis are signed long term, which means Los Angeles is ready to compete for the upcoming years. That is not going to change and can only intensify as the team continues to build the perimeter around its stars.
That is what this NBA trade scenario would be accomplishing. Malik Beasley has shown an ability to score at all three levels, which is beneficial to a team with James on it.
The Lakers struggled with depth last season and that showed during the playoffs when they were injured. Beasley is a good fit because of his ability to shoot from deep and get a basket when needed. The Lakers have plenty of elite passers that can set up their perimeter in a position to be successful.
While Beasley isn’t nearly as high of a volume perimeter shooter as Buddy Hield, he would provide a relatively similar fit. The premise would be that he’s an efficient scorer who would primarily attack off-the-catch but can shoot off-the-dribble within the flow.

The Lakers were eliminated in the first round last season because of injuries and it is obvious that they do not want to happen again. The addition of Westbrook was good enough but we have seen aggressiveness from the front office that could come out once again.
