Best Trade Destination No. 1: Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers are likely in the market for a point guard this offseason. Ben Simmons does not seem like he will be back with the team after cutting off all communications with the organization.

The 76ers are reportedly determined to move Simmons, but they will have to adjust their asking price. The offers they sent to the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors were fantasies. But, building a package around Simmons to try and pry Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers is something that would work for both sides.

Landing with the 76ers would be excellent for Lillard. He would make for a dominant inside-out combination with Joel Embiid with Tobias Harris providing a solid third scoring option for the team.

Given how deep and talented the roster is, the 76ers could surrender some pieces in a package for Lillard but still have a roster that will compete with the elite teams in the NBA.

What Lillard lacks in defense compared to Simmons he more than makes up for with offense. He would be difficult to contain as teams will be trying to figure out how to stop Embiid in the paint.

With his ability to stretch the floor from long-range, Lillard would open things up for a 76ers defense that was sometimes stagnant and bogged down by Simmons’s inability to provide much offensive production.
