Why The Warriors Are The Best Landing Spot
The Golden State Warriors are looking to return to the upper echelon of the NBA this season. Stephen Curry has proven that he can still perform at an MVP level but was carrying the team at times by himself during the 2020-21 season.
With Klay Thompson hopefully returning to the court this season, he will have his backcourt running mate back. But, adding a third bonafide scorer to the mix would help alleviate some pressure from them, and Kristaps Porzings should be able to provide that.
Porzingis would provide Golden State with an added dimension offensively given his ability to spread the court. In the past, without Kevin Durant, teams could key in on Curry and Thompson and the Warriors didn’t have many players that could make teams pay for that. Porzingis would be able to take advantage of those situations.
While Porzingis has his shortcomings defensively, he has proven that he can be a solid rim protector. He struggles defending on the perimeter, but the Warriors have the ultimate swiss army knife in Draymond Green that can help compensate for Porzingis on that end of the court.

Green is an excellent frontcourt pairing for Porzingis, as he can handle the best frontcourt player on the opposing team. His presence, along with James Wiseman’s, would allow Porzingis to remain at power forward, where he prefers to be instead of center.
His skillset and fit on the roster make the Warriors the best landing spot for Kristaps Porzingis were the Dallas Mavericks to trade him away.
