Would this deal make sense for the Cleveland Cavaliers?
Any deal in which the Cleveland Cavaliers can get rid of Kevin Love makes sense for them because they simply do not want him anymore! They have acknowledged that his minutes will continue to decline drastically in favor of more young players, his body language says he does not want to be in Cleveland and the Cavs simply do not want to pay his $60.2M remaining on his contract.
Being able to move on from this contract would be huge for the Cavaliers and their future because there would not be question marks surrounding the likes of guys like Collin Sexton, Darius Garland and others.
The Cavs could simply just pay these guys and re-sign them to long-term deals, that way they can continue to grow with the young core they have invested a lot into in the post-LeBron era.
With Sexton, Garland, Okoro, Mobley, Allen and others, the future is definitely very bright for the Cleveland Cavaliers, but they have to be willing to invest in these guys and keep them long-term. Giving up on just one of these guys could have catastrophic effects on this organization, resulting in them having to rebuild once again.

Freeing up the cap space from Love’s contract allows them to keep their young core intact and they would also be getting a young wing who can act as their “sixth-man” with guys like Larry Nance Jr. and Ricky Rubio also on the bench. Overall, by adding Hart on a $15M+ per year contract, the Cavaliers would actually have a really solid looking team heading into the 2021-22 season.
They would have depth, they would have guys who can score and most importantly, they would continue to add young and future talents to their franchise, which is the ultimate goal of the Cavs right now.

Cleveland is not a championship contending team right now and the best thing they can do is not only move on from big contracts, but add future value, which is what they would be doing in a sign-and-trade for Josh Hart.
