The Los Angeles Clippers have yet to accomplish the ultimate goal in two years involving their new regime. Is it time to blow things up? There was a sense that the front office could go this direction if the team suffered another disappointing end to the NBA season but there could be some circumstances to change this.
First, Kawhi Leonard suffered an injury and the team still made a run to the Western Conference Finals. If Leonard was in the lineup, they might have been able to make it out of the West. Leonard plans to re-sign with the Clippers after opting out of his contract.
Reggie Jackson is back on a two-year deal and the Clippers could be in a position to run it back. The team appears primed to run it back despite Kawhi Leonard likely being sidelined for most of, if not all, of the 2021-22 season.
A team that knows a thing or two about retooling is the Sacramento Kings. They have been rebuilding for over a decade now. The Kings currently have the longest postseason drought in the league and by a long shot at 15 years. They do not seem any closer to ending this run.
De’Aaron Fox is an All-Star caliber player but it is time that the Kings get some more star power around him. That is what they could look to accomplish this offseason.

From a purely hypothetical standpoint, it would be fascinating to see an NBA trade scenario where the Sacramento Kings decide to go all-in on Fox as the franchise-cornerstone by making a major splash via trade. A talent that would be entertaining to see play alongside would be Paul George.
Maybe it will come in a trade with the Clippers. Here is what a potential deal between these two sides might look like.
