Does this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?
The immediate benefit of this deal for the Philadelphia 76ers parting ways with Simmons. The situation has turned into a complete disaster and there is no where the two sides can get their relationship back.
With that being said, the 76ers might have to knock the price down a bit because they are losing leverage in this deal. The closer the start of training camp approaches, there could be changes in the situation that prompt Philadelphia to look toward making a trade.
The 76ers have been asking for a ton of young players along with draft picks in exchange for Simmons. If he has completely cut ties, the Sixers do not have much to work with but they can still get a huge haul because of his age and position.
Simmons was once viewed as one of the brightest young stars in the game but his in ability to score has been apparent. Russell and Beasley are perimeter threats that could help the 76ers get it done from beyond the arc. They would fit well next to Embiid on the offensive end of the floor.

Philadelphia needs to make the appropriate moves needed to win a championship. Sending Simmons away is certainly one of them and now they just have to decide which trade they will make.
