Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
The Indiana Pacers could be looking to completely retool the lineup. That is why players like Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis have been featured in NBA trade rumors instead of just Myles Turner’s regular inclusion.
The Pacers could be looking to unload cap space and build around other players. This includes Caris LeVert. He came over from the Brooklyn Nets in the blockbuster deal that sent James Harden away.
Sabonis is a two-time All-Star who has been among the NBA leaders in touches, so given how intrenched the team is with him their half-court offense, it’s challenging to envision being a name that gets dealt. Even when considering his limitations defensively.
This leaves Malcolm Brogdon on his own, who has been key in getting two head coaches fired now — including one who led a team to an Eastern Conference Finals appearance. Brunson has not had a chance to start in Dallas but has shown that he has that capability.
On a team like the Pacers, Brunson would be able to come in and take on an extended role right away.

With the current state of the Eastern Conference, it will be interesting to see how the front office of the Pacers decides to play things moving forward. They have plenty of options and we could see a lot done sooner rather than later.
