The 2021 NBA Draft is finally upon us and the lives of plenty of prospects will be altered forever as they achieve their dreams of making it to the NBA.

To begin the draft, the Detroit Pistons hold the No. 1 overall pick, and barring an unforeseen trade, Cade Cunningham is expected to be the first name announced.

Throughout the pre-draft process, teams have compiled a list of desired prospects that would fit their roster or they have been working the phones to conduct a trade from their current pick.

Some teams draft the best player available while others may prioritize a player’s ability to make a seamless transition to their system.

Even if it is unlikely to happen, certain teams always have a prospect in mind that they would love to select if he were available when they were on the clock. With the draft taking place on Thursday night, here is one ideal prospect for each team that selects in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft.

Note: I avoided listed the same prospect more than two times to prevent too much repetition and if a team has multiple first-round picks, I discussed the most ideal prospect they could select for their highest pick.
