The Atlanta Hawks managed to pull off an impressive run in this year’s NBA playoffs to make the Eastern Conference Finals. Trae Young along with a talented supporting cast managed to get by the New York Knicks in the opening round and pulled off a Game 7 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. What can be done to take the next step?

After Trae Young began being limited by his heel injury, there was no longer enough firepower in the Hawks’ offense to be able to compete with the Milwaukee Bucks. That was even without Giannis Antetokounmpo on the floor. It seems clear that making an aggressive move for a co-star like Bradley Beal could be a logical solution.

There hasn’t been much in the NBA trade rumors department in turns of developments surrounding Beal’s future with the Wizards organization. Much of what could occur appears predicated on him seeing what the front office does to add talent into the mix. In fact, they are now among the teams who ‘could get in the mix’ for Bradley Beal if he were to be dealt, per The Athletic’s Fred Katz.

Russell Westbrook and Beal managed to pull off an improbable run toward the end of the regular season to go from having one of the worst records in the Eastern Conference to a playoff spot. This was largely done in spite of the team’s complementary players, not because of them.

While unlikely, there are a few intriguing scenarios to think about from the Wizards’ perspective. Perhaps capitalizing on Beal’s trade value to better rebuild long-term could the right approach?

if the Wizards fail to overhaul the team in one offseason, he could end up departing after declining his option in 2022-23, or simply requesting to be traded. There is an argument to be had about getting ahead of this situation after many seasons of failing to get the job done.

With that being said, let’s take a look at an NBA trade scenario that features Bradley Beal being dealt by the Washington Wizards to the Atlanta Hawks.
