After missing the playoffs for the third consecutive NBA season now, the New Orleans Pelicans are going to be searching for answers this offseason on how to build their team into a true threat out West. With guys like Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart set to become restricted free agents, the Pelicans will likely be big spenders this offseason, which is why they have a chance to turn things around in a hurry.
Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram are All-Star players on this roster and are the focal points of this team moving forward, but this team is still one or two key pieces away from being a true contender. Bringing back Lonzo Ball should definitely be a priority for New Orleans though, especially since they are going to be looking to trade Eric Bledsoe in the offseason, but who else can the Pelicans get?

With virtually no cap space to go out and sign a big name in free agency due to them potentially re-signing both Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart, but finding that third high-caliber talent via trade is definitely a possibility for the Pelicans this offseason.
Pelicans Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, David Griffin, is no stranger to going out and looking for ways to better his teams, which is why the Pelicans could look to the Pacers as a potential trade partner in the offseason. In fact, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that New Orleans is among the teams who have expressed interest in a trade for Turner.

There is a lot of turmoil going on within the Pacers organization right now and with multiple players rumored to be available via trade, the Pelicans could look at Myles Turner as a possible upgrade for them in their frontcourt. With Steven Adams under contract through the 2022-23 season, the Pelicans do not necessarily need another center, but adding Turner would be a huge upgrade for them.
