Who The Boston Celtics Should Target
With a need for a point guard, the Boston Celtics should get in touch with the Indiana Pacers. Many people have connected the Celtics to Pacers’ big man Myles Turner, but it is Malcolm Brogdon who would make for the perfect target from Indiana.
Brogdon is someone the Pacers could look to move this season as they try and avoid the luxury tax line. He is owed $44.3 million the next two seasons and for a team that isn’t truly a contender, they may not be willing to pay that price.
Boston should take advantage if Indiana is looking to cut costs. They could build a few different trade packages that might entice the Pacers to part ways with their point guard.
If the Pacers want to bolster their wing depth and think Evan Fournier is a good target, the teams can work out a sign-and-trade. A straight swap between the two works financially, but they could also add in one of their young players, whether it be Romeo Langford, Payton Pritchard, Aaron Nesmith or Robert Williams III if Indiana wanted.

They could build another trade package around Marcus Smart if they were looking to shake up their roster. Smart, Tristan Thompson, one of the aforementioned younger players and a future pick could get the job done as well.
