Mike Conley Jr.
The Phoenix Suns would have a lot of money to spend in free agency if Chris Paul departed. Removing his $44.2 million option for next season from the ledger would give the Suns about $32 million to spend in cap space, as the 2021-22 salary cap is projected to be about $112 million.
With that kind of money, they can be aggressively pursuing a veteran in free agency and Mike Conley would be an excellent target for the team.
Conley is a steady point guard who would bring much of the same veteran leadership and temperament to the position that Paul did. He was an integral part of the Utah Jazz finishing the regular season with the best record in the NBA, as he gets it done on both ends of the court.
Conley would provide Phoenix with another floor spacer, as he knocked down 41.2 percent of his 3-point attempts this past season and is a 37.9 percent shooter in his career. He is a good playmaker as well, so he will help get his teammates into advantageous positions to score.

Defensively is where Conley makes his hey. He would take pressure off of Devin Booker, much like Paul did, defensively as he can be the player to defend the opposing team’s biggest perimeter threats.
