Dallas Mavericks
It is a necessity for the Dallas Mavericks to improve on the defensive end this offseason. They can keep up with anyone scoring the ball in shootouts, but when they needed stops the most, they were unable to get them.
This has been a troubling trend for the Mavericks, where their defensive rating has gotten worse in six consecutive seasons. That is a trend that would certainly come to a halt with Draymond Green on board.
Green is one of the most versatile defensive players the NBA has seen, as he can legitimately defend any position on the court. He would bring some much-needed toughness to the interior for the Dallas Mavericks, where Kristaps
Porzingis has so far come up short as being the sidekick to Luka Doncic that the Dallas Mavericks envisioned him being. While Green wouldn’t be an offensive threat alongside him, he would still help the team.

Having another excellent playmaker on the court would take pressure off of Doncic as the sole creator of offense for himself and his teammates. Allowing him to play off the ball more could make him an even more dangerous player, as he is already very difficult to stop in one-on-one situations.
