This offseason looks like it will be a busy one for the Miami Heat. There are only four players with guaranteed deals for the 2021-22 NBA season currently on the roster, so there will be plenty of action in South Beach.
Miami has been mentioned as a landing spot for some big-name players this offseason, but they will have to clear some money to accomplish that.
The organization has some tough decisions to make when it comes to team options, as Goran Dragic and Andre Iguodala have options worth $19.4 million and $15 million. Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn, two more integral parts of the rotation, are entering restricted free agency.
One player to keep an eye on this offseason is shooting guard, Tyler Herro. Herro had some breakout performances in the Orlando Bubble during the team’s run to the NBA Finals, but his sophomore season was pretty bumpy. Now, it sounds likely that the Heat will move on from Herro this offseason, as it was reported that there is a 75 percent chance that he is traded away.

Herro can still develop into a very good NBA player, but Miami may not be able to afford to wait and see. If they can flip him for a more established player that better fits Butler’s timeline, they will consider it.
