The New York Knicks were one of the most surprising teams in the NBA this season. They finished with 41 wins and were able to catapult themselves into the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference. Despite all of the regular season success, it did not go the way of the Knicks come the playoffs.

New York looked like the team of the past in the first round against the Atlanta Hawks. The Knicks were eliminated in five games and had trouble staying within double-digits of the Hawks, especially on the road.

Julius Randle was named the league’s Most Improved Player while Tom Thibodeau won Coach of the Year. RJ Barrett looked like an improved player but the Knicks still have major holes and need another star in the lineup.

Enter the Sacramento Kings. It has been 15 years since the Kings clinched a spot in the postseason. This is by far the longest stretch in the league. With over half of the teams in the NBA making the playoffs, it seems impossible that a team could be down for so long but here we are.

Sacramento seems to still be years away from competing in the Western Conference. It is time that they sell whatever assets they have available and it could begin with their best player in De’Aaron Fox.

Once the offseason begins, the Knicks will have to seriously consider all options now that they have had a taste of success. This NBA trade scenario centered around De’Aaron Fox would give them the necessary help at the top of the offense.
