New York Knicks Receive: G Bradley Beal, C Thomas Bryant
Washington Wizards Receive: F Obi Toppin, F Kevin Knox, 2021 First-Round Pick (via NYK), 2022 First-Round Draft Pick (via NYK), 2023 First-Round Pick (via DAL)

In this deal, the New York Knicks use their ample cap space again. For years, fans had hoped the organization would use their cap space to absorb other team’s bad contracts and receive draft compensation for their troubles. They finally do that in this NBA trade scenario.

The Knicks take back the contract of Thomas Bryant, who was diagnosed with an ACL tear on January 10th. He would assuredly miss a big chunk of the season, so the Wizards receive a little more cap relief in this scenario.

Ridding themselves of more salary will also impact the return package. The Knicks hold onto Barrett in this scenario, including Toppin and Knox as the two young players heading to Washington.

The Wizards do, though, still receive solid draft compensation in this scenario.
