Los Angeles Clippers Receive: Lonzo Ball
New Orleans Pelicans Receive: Terance Mann, Patrick Beverley, Luke Kennard, 2024 Second-Round Pick, 2025 Second-Round Pick, 2026 Second-Round Pick
The Clippers are short on assets, as they unloaded all of the draft picks and young players they had to the Oklahoma City Thunder to land Paul George. But, the Pelicans would presumably like to get something in return for Ball instead of losing him for free, and this trade they get some pieces to work with.
The Pelicans get every extra second-round pick the Clippers have in this deal. Since Los Angeles is trading away their two most promising young players, they will hold onto their 2021 first-round pick in this scenario.
Kennard was in and out of the Clippers’ rotation in the postseason, but at 25-years old, he still has time to develop his game. He is already an elite 3-point shooter, knocking down 41.3 percent of his career attempts. That is something that would play well alongside Zion Williamson.
Terrance Mann gives New Orleans another intriguing young player that they could develop. He earned a spot in the team’s rotation during the regular season and stepped up big time when Leonard was injured in the playoffs, including a monster 39-point performance to help the Clippers overcome a massive deficit and eliminate the Jazz.

Beverley is used as cap filler to make the numbers work but is an expiring contract that will give the Pelicans some wiggle room in the future.
