Does this trade make sense for the Boston Celtics?
There has been a glaring need in Boston down low from last season. This is something they did not address in the offseason and the addition of Al Horford should help. With Kemba Walker being involved in that NBA trade scenario, there is now a need that must be addressed at the point guard spot.
This move could also depend on the plan for Evan Fournier moving forward. The Celtics acquired Fournier at the NBA trade deadline this season and he will be a free agent this offseason.
There has been rumors of interest by both sides to reconnect but if Fournier agrees to a deal elsewhere, Boston could become thinner on the perimeter. After the Kemba Walker trade, that is already a concern to begin with.
While Morris would not be a replacement for Fournier, bringing him into the fold would help to fill and even greater offensive void that would be expanded. Of course, it remains to be seen what Fournier will do, but the backcourt could quickly become a pressing priority.

The Celtics are still in win-now mode and have the star power in place. Now, Stevens will look to make an impact in his first offseason in the front office by completely rejuvenating the rotation.
