New York loses three of their five starters from a season ago
During the regular season, New York’s starting lineup of Elfrid Payton, RJ Barrett, Reggie Bullock, Randle, and Mitchell Robinson had success.
The Knicks recorded a 41-31 record en route to securing the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference.
While their original starting lineup had success in the regular season, the lineup underwent changes in the playoffs, which could be a sign of what is to come.
Besides Robinson being out with an injury, Payton was replaced by Derrick Rose in the starting lineup. Heading into the offseason, both Payton and Bullock are free agents, while Robinson has a team option.

Given New York’s desire to build a contending roster, Payton and Bullock aren’t retained by the team this offseason. And the Knicks have to make a decision on Robinson, making it a possibility that New York loses three of their five starters from this season.
