Does this trade make sense for the San Antonio Spurs?

The San Antonio Spurs are losing some prowess along the perimeter and it is important to replenish. DeMar DeRozan is not known as a three-point shooter but he is still a presence at the shooting-guard position. This is where Hield could come in and take over right away.

San Antonio is set up well in the backcourt. Dejounte Murray has blossomed into a dynamic point guard that can fill up a stat sheet. Keldon Johnson is another option to build around moving forward.

Hield is more of an experienced player with a chance to contribute right away. He will bring some elite three-point power to the team and this is where the Spurs could benefit. For a team that has been among the league’s lowest in terms of perimeter shooting volume, he could help significantly.

The Spurs have lacked this a bit and Buddy Hield would fit right away. It helps that they would add some second-round draft capital.

If the Spurs want to return to the postseason, they will have to make the moves necessary. Gregg Popovich has to have some players on his radar and Hield could be near the top of the list.
