This is the NBA trade scenario where Buddy Hield could finally be moved. He would be sent to the San Antonio Spurs, along with the No. 39 pick in the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft.
Hield would give the Spurs a marksman from deep, which is important in today’s NBA. Particularly for teams who do not have a superstar that can shoulder the bulk of the volume taking pull-ups like a Stephen Curry or Damian Lillard talent.
Derrick White would be the player being sent to Sacramento. He has improved in each of his four years in the league. He is also a lower maintenance personality that could help to establish a team culture that has sorely lacked for many years in Sacramento.
This season, White averaged 15.4 points in 36 games for San Antonio. He would join De’Aaron Fox in the backcourt for Sacramento. This is a duo to build around moving forward. Having a cheaper option that is content with being a complementary option can go a long way.
