Memphis Grizzlies, 2021 NBA Draft
NBA Analysis Network

They may have been ousted in the first-round of the NBA postseason this year, but the 2020-21 season was a big win for the Memphis Grizzlies. With Jaren Jackson Jr. out until the final months of the season, Ja Morant really stepped up for this team as a leader and has cemented himself as a potential All-Star point guard moving forward, but Dillon Brooks also stepped up this year.

Brooks has turned himself into one of the most underappreciated two-way wings in the entire league and he proved that he is not going anywhere with his impressive performances against the Utah Jazz in the first-round of the playoffs this year.

Morant, Brooks and Jackson Jr. are all young building blocks for the future in Memphis and other experienced guys like Kyle Anderson and Jonas Valanciunas have also fit in really well with the Grizzlies. There really are no weaknesses with the Grizzlies right now other than the fact that some teams are just more talented than them.

They ranked 15th in offensive rating this year and 6th in defensive rating, so they are a very strong team, but what else do they need to do in order to break through? The answer is time.

The Grizzlies need to be patient and let their young players develop further because very few teams around the league have young talents with the potential that the Grizzlies young talents have. The best thing they can do this offseason is to continue adding young talent to their roster, which is why Memphis will have plenty of options with the 17th overall pick in the draft.

With this said, let’s take a look at the Grizzlies’ Top-4 options with the No. 17 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
