Clippers haven’t lived up to expectations
When the Clippers acquired both Leonard and George in 2019, expectations skyrocketed for the organization. The little brother to the Los Angeles Lakers was garnering headlines of their own for once, as many people anointed them as the title favorites.
The first year fell woefully short of expectations. The Clippers were bounced in the second round of the playoffs in the Orlando Bubble by the Denver Nuggets, blowing a 3-1 lead.
This year, they got closer to their goal, as they made the Western Conference Finals despite losing Leonard in the second-round series against the Utah Jazz.
While it was impressive for the undermanned Clippers to push the Phoenix Suns to six games, they still came up short of their ultimate goal of winning a championship.
