Price will never be this low again
Teams are always looking for discounts when it comes to adding talent to their roster. For the Pacers, there will likely never be a better time to buy low on Simmons.
The quotes from head coach Doc Rivers and Joel Embiid following the team’s elimination from the postseason paints a picture of a relationship that will be difficult to rehab. There seems to be waning confidence in Simmons among some within the organization and Indiana should strike while they can.
This is a player in Simmons that was being discussed in trade packages for former MVP James Harden before he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets would hang up the phone if that was an offer they received today in exchange for Harden.
No disrespect to Malcolm Brogdon, but he isn’t close to the same player that Harden is and that was the centerpiece of the Pacers’ first proposal to the Philadelphia 76ers.

It would be difficult to imagine Simmons’ value being lower than it is today at any point again in his prime.
