Does this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers?
If there really is no market for Kyle Kuzma this offseason and his value is not as high as many believe it could be, then the Lakers could actually get a ton of value out of this trade for Terrence Ross. Now, I know the Lakers won a championship with Kuzma and that he is a bright, young talent, but he does seem to look lost at times on offense with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
His long-term future with this organization is definitely in question right now and with his value likely being as high as it will be, this could be a smart move for the Lakers to move on from their young forward this offseason.
Whether or not you believe Ross is the right replacement is a matter of opinion, but Terrence Ross has the numbers to back up his value to a playoff contending team. Bench points are extremely valuable in the NBA and Ross is one of the best bench players a team can have.
He is a starting wing that is more than capable of scoring 14+ points off-the-bench every single night, which is why the Lakers could immediately fit him into their rotations for 30+ minutes per game. Terrence Ross is a very undervalued, experienced talent in this league and given the opportunity, he can prove to be an essential piece to a championship-caliber team.

Lakers’ fans will obviously want to see their team going after big names like Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard, but Terrence Ross is more than capable of being a secondary scorer next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Giving up Kyle Kuzma and a second-round pick is very fair value for Ross and Los Angeles would be making out quite well in this trade. If they cannot get more value for Kuzma somewhere else, this is definitely a trade the Lakers should entertain.
