Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?

Overall, no this trade makes little sense for the Pacers, but if they are looking for ways to add more young talent to their roster and do so “Quickley,” then this trade presents upside to them. Get it, Immanuel Quickley going to… nevermind.

In this trade proposal, the Pacers get some young talents in Knox and Quickley, who could fit in well, but the immediate value from this trade comes from the 19th and 21st overall selection the Pacers get. Along with their 13th overall pick, Indiana would now have 3 first-round draft picks in the 2021 NBA Draft, giving them a ton of options.

The Pacers could keep all three of these picks and add three young, versatile players to their roster, but they could also look to package these three picks together to add another established, All-Star-like player to their roster.

There have been rumors that Indiana is very interested in both Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollm from the Portland Trail Blazers, so maybe they could put together a big trade package to land one of them if they were to make this trade with the Knicks.

This is a ton of forward thinking and there is nothing on the table right now with any of these deals, so do not jump to conclusions and think the Pacers will be adding Lillard or McCollum, it is just simply a possible option presented by this trade with New York.

If the Pacers were to trade Malcolm Brogdon, gettin draft picks is great, but you would have to imagine that this trade with the Knicks would not be enough value. Recently, they offered Brogdon and a first-round pick for Ben Simmons which got turned down by Philadelphia, so that right there tells us what kind of value the Pacers want for a guy like Malcolm Brogdon.

While he has had his struggles, Ben Simmons is an All-NBA, All-Star talent and this is the kind of player the Pacers want if they are giving up Brogdon. As a result, this trade with New York does not make much sense for them, which is why the Knicks likely do not have anything to offer the Pacers to try and get their two-way point guard.
