Does this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?

Daryl Morey came over to the front office last year and Doc Rivers became the new head coach. Both said that they were not interested in trading either Simmons or Embiid but that notion could have changed after the postseason. Joel Embiid put up an MVP-caliber season and is certainly not going anywhere.

After what we saw down the stretch, Ben Simmons is the easy choice to trade away. Seth Curry stepped up during the postseason and Tobias Harris had a year that looked worthy of his contract.

There is plenty of star power on the Philadelphia 76ers and they could look to put the right pieces around. This is what they were doing this deal by continuing to pile of assets.

Joel Embiid has shown that he can lead the team to winning and now he has to do so in the postseason. There used to be questions about which player to build around but an MVP caliber campaign from Embiid and regression from Simmons provides an obvious answer.

The 76ers will enter next season as one of the contenders to win a championship once again. If they continue to add the right into their system, they could become even more dangerous.
