Cleveland Cavaliers, 2021 NBA Draft
NBA Analysis Network

Back in 2016, the Cleveland Cavaliers became the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals and they won their first championship in team history. LeBron James delivered on his promise to deliver a title to the city of Cleveland, but then he left in the 2018 offseason, leaving the Cavaliers with virtually nothing.

Since James left, the Cavaliers have gone 60-159 and have consistently been near the bottom of the league standings. Heading into the offseason this year, Cleveland once again has a top pick in the draft and this year, they will be picking 3rd overall.

With Collin Sexton and Darius Garland as their two young leaders in the backcourt, it would appear that Cleveland may not go in the direction of drafting another guard, but there has been some uncertainty about the future of their young players.

Garland is under contract through the 2022-23 season, but Sexton is entering the final year of his deal and is up for a contract extension in the offseason.

As a result, there have been plenty of talks about the Cavaliers potentially looking to trade Collin Sexton for immediate value. There is also a lot of concern financially for the Cavs as Jarrett Allen is a free agent this offseason. Cleveland does not have a ton of cap space to work with either since Kevin Love is eating up about $31.2M next season.

With all of thes trade rumors circulating around the Cavaliers right now and the pending free agency of Jarrett Allen, what will they look to do in the draft? There is always the possibility of trading the 3rd overall pick and possibly gaining more assets, but here are the Top-4 options for the Cavaliers to consider with their top draft pick this year.
