Pascal Siakam – Toronto Raptors

One under-the-radar name to keep an eye on in trade talks this offseason is Pascal Siakam. The 6’9” forward is under contract for several more years in Toronto and was an All-Star last season, but the Raptors organization could be looking to take things in a new direction this offseason.

After winning their franchise’s first championship ever in 2019, the Raptors have seemed to take a step back as Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka and others have all departed Toronto over the last year or two.

Now, with Kyle Lowry being an unrestricted free agent and the Raptors owning the 4th overall pick in this year’s draft, they could view this offseason as a way for them to quickly rebuild. In order to do so though, they may look to leverage Pascal Siakam on a potential trade.

In fact, sources have told our own Evan Massey that the Warriors are a team to watch for in potential trade talks for Pascal Siakam, possibly leveraging James Wiseman and some draft picks to acquire him.

The Warriors may have a lot to offer the Raptors in terms of young assets and draft picks, but if Siakam does become available in trade talks, there are a handful of teams league-wide that would show interest in the 27-year-old forward. The Nuggets, Hornets, Cavaliers, Spurs and Thunder are all teams who could show interest in Pascal Siakam, a source tells NBA Analysis Network.

As of right now, nobody really knows what to expect from the Toronto Raptors this offseason, which is why something may be brewing for them. Masai Ujiri is never afraid to make big moves for his organization and while Pascal Siakam has been a great player over the years for them, Toronto could get a ton of value by leveraging him now.

The Raptors could look to just replace Kyle Lowry with another All-Star caliber player this offseason, but they could also take this opportunity with trade assets and draft picks to rebuild their young core and future of their franchise. Only time will tell what the future holds for the Toronto Raptors.
