There has been an ongoing discussion in the past year on whether the Miami Heat should move on from Tyler Herro. Herro burst onto the scene as a rookie in the NBA Bubble last season, showing that he doesn’t shy away from the biggest moments.

However, his value was sky-high and there were big-name players available on the trade market. NBA trade rumors suggested that the Heat could deal Herro in a trade that would land Miami James Harden, only for Harden to end up with the Brooklyn Nets.

Fast forward to now and following a disappointing sophomore campaign, Herro’s trade value took a slight dip. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t teams out there that believe Herro can be a long-term fixture on their roster.

With Herro’s ability to score, and his fearless demeanor, he can carve out a prominent role on an NBA franchise. He did not end up having a breakout campaign in 2020-21, but perhaps a larger role elsewhere could be key in him doing so.

If Miami positions themselves for guys like Kyle Lowry or Lonzo Ball, it could be in the form of a sign-and-trade, which could very well include Herro. If a sign-and-trade isn’t the outcome, then here are a few star players the Heat should target with Herro as the main piece in a trade.

With that being said, let’s take a look at three star players the Miami Heat should pursue via trade that could require Tyler Herro’s inclusion in a deal.
