Once again, experienced guards are wanted commodities for teams that believe they have what it takes to advance to the NBA Finals. With the pressure mounting and possessions becoming more important in the postseason, having a veteran guard that understands the stakes at hand can be the difference between winning and losing.
One of the veteran guards who could be available this offseason that has championship experience is Cory Joseph.
The Detroit Pistons are another team that could be looking to offload some of their players due to the position of the franchise. Detroit wants to keep giving more minutes to their younger players, which could cause Joseph to see his role decline next season.
In 19 games with the Pistons this season, following a trade from the Sacramento Kings, Joseph recorded 12 points and 5.5 assists per game, and he shot a modest 36.8 percent from outside.

But with Killian Hayes and Saben Lee expected to see more playing time in 2021-22, Joseph could be expendable for the Pistons. Contending teams that are in need of a point guard off of the bench should look no further than Joseph.
The 29-year-old that won a title with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014 would be a fantastic under-the-radar move for teams that have their sights on the Larry O’Brien trophy.
