Tyus Jones
The Memphis Grizzlies may have surprised some people when they snuck into the playoffs this season following two wins in the NBA play-in tournament. While Ja Morant showed promise on a big stage, Memphis still has plenty of work to do before they’re considered a legitimate threat in the Western Conference.
One of the issues clouding the Grizzlies is what they should do with all of the guards they have on the roster. Ja Morant is unquestionably a franchise cornerstone for years to come, and Desmond Bane flashed potential as a rookie this year, but what about the other guys?
De’Anthony Melton is likely someone Memphis wants to see more minutes from as they signed him to an extension last offseason. With that in mind, Tyus Jones may be someone who is available via trade.
I’ve always believed that Jones could be a solid backup point guard for a contender as he rarely makes mistakes and he brings multiple abilities to the table.

Besides never having more than one turnover per game in his career, Jones is a 34 percent three-point shooter that has only one year where he played more than 20 minutes per game. If a contender was able to give him more minutes to operate their bench unit, I’m confident that Jones would draw some attention from fans.
