The Charlotte Hornets could have another aggressive offseason. They clinched a spot in the NBA play-in tournament but were unable to advance further after getting blown out by the Indiana Pacers. This is a team that is strong in the backcourt but struggled with depth and explosiveness down low.

This is something the Hornets can prioritize either in NBA free agency or through trades. The Hornets currently hold the 11th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. This is an asset they could send away if there is a big available on the trading block.

Moves such as this one would balance the floor on both ends and add another strong piece to the backcourt. LaMelo Ball was named Rookie of the Year and is looking like a star. As of now, Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham are still on the roster but one can be moved prior to next year.

The Houston Rockets are one of the best teams to contact if a team is looking for a deal. Houston sent Russell Westbrook and James Harden away this season. This put their rebuild into a new gear.

This is a chance for both sides to continue to build assets and complete goals by the front offices. Let’s take a look at what a potential NBA trade scenario centered around Christian Wood would look like between the Charlotte Hornets and Houston Rockets.
